Job Summary

Maintenance, repairs and installation of Radio equipment, portable handheld radios, repeaters, Tetra infrastructure including point to point and point to multipoint microwave systems.

Ensuring continuous availability through effective maintenance, system planning and system inspections for 24/7 365-day operations through sound maintenance and renewal strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities

-Radio handset and radio programming.
Infrastructure administration, operation and maintenance of radio and microwave systems.
-Perform fault finding, repairs and modifications where necessary down to component level.
-Conduct system inspections and technical investigations.
-Ensure safety in area of responsibility.
-Radio license administration.
-Ensuring legal compliance to Intrinsic Safety standards.
-Build customer relationships in order to understand their needs.
-Apply safety in all practices.
-Standby duties - Supporting and ensuring system availability after hours.
-Working at heights (up to 61m towers).
-Project management of the radio department projects.
-SLA management of service providers.

Qualifications and Experience

-Person should not have a fear of heights, should be comfortable in a Petrochemical environment and should be competent and available to perform Standby and Support Duties.
-Level 3 maintenance of the Radio and microwave systems and should have the ability to liaise with clients and service providers in the environment.
Qualifications:
-S4 National Diploma – Electrical Engineering (light current with radio subjects)
'Code 08 Drivers License
